Accessibility
We want Oxygene Finance to be usable by everyone in a household, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, larger text, or reduced motion. This page says what we aim for, where we fall short today, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, on the website and in the iPhone app.
Today the service partly meets that standard. The main pages people use most — sign-in, creating an account, the dashboard, accounts and adding an account, retirement, budget, family, settings and support — are checked against it. Some of the less-used planning pages are not there yet. They are listed below.
What you can expect
- The main pages can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to main content" link.
- Form fields and buttons have names a screen reader can announce.
- Every chart on the website has a written summary and a table of its figures for screen readers. Charts in the iPhone app have a written summary.
- Light and dark themes, each checked for text contrast. Choose one before you sign in.
- On the website, animations stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
- On the iPhone app, text follows your Larger Text setting. Dense rows of figures stop growing at a size that keeps them on screen.
Known issues
These do not yet meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We are working through them.
- Small text on some planning pages. The Company Planner, Portfolio, Liquidation Planner and Safety Net pages still have some notes and labels below 12 pixels.
- Colours on some planning pages in the light theme. A few figures on the Company Planner, Portfolio, Safety Net and Expat FIRE pages are coloured by code that has not yet moved to the checked theme colours, so they may be harder to read in the light theme.
- Chart detail on hover. Pointing at a chart shows a tooltip. That detail is not available from the keyboard, though the same figures are in each chart's table for screen readers.
- Some fields named automatically. On less-used pages some form fields get their name from the text beside them when the page loads, rather than from a label in the page itself. A screen reader announces them, but the name can be less clear.
- Downloads. Exported spreadsheets and the printed handover pack are not tagged for screen readers.
- Some controls on planning pages. A few parts of the less-used planning pages, such as selecting a bar in the Portfolio Journal chart, still need a mouse or a finger.
- Assistive technology testing. We check every release with automated tools and by keyboard. Regular testing with VoiceOver and NVDA is still being set up.
Tell us about a problem
If something does not work for you, or you need information in a different format, email us. Say which page or screen it was, and what you use (for example a screen reader, magnifier or voice control) if you are happy to.
We will make reasonable adjustments where we can, such as going through something with you by email.
How we checked
This statement was prepared on 4 October 2026. The main pages listed above were checked with the axe accessibility engine in both themes, and by keyboard. The rest of the service was reviewed by our own team in August and October 2026.
